Me?

“I have feelings, but I am not those feelings.  Who am I?  I have thoughts, but I am not those thoughts.  Who am I?  I have desires, but I am not those desires.  Who am I?”  From One Taste by Ken Wilber

“If you want to understand your mind, sit down and observe it.” From Joseph Goldstein in an interview with Sam Harris

Yes! Good quotes.

I'm finally learning that real wisdom begins when I can find the "I" who can stand outside of the senses and emotions and look back in. Some call this the "inner observer." A lot of important stuff happens in that space of detachment between the "I" and the thoughts, emotions and senses that happen to that "I."
